About Oriane

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#137084) supervised by Adina M. Ascher, PhD, LCSW (#28900), and a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT - 500). My passion, extensive training, and personal experiences with the healing arts both abroad and in the U.S. allow me to blend traditional psychotherapy with contemporary mind-body practices in my online practice based in the California Bay Area. As a bicultural and bilingual French-American, my background provides a unique perspective that allows me to support individuals, couples, and families coping with difficult transitions and cultural adjustments.

Credentials

I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University and my Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from McGill University in Montreal. During and after my Master’s degree, I trained at the Liberation Institute, a grassroots mental health non profit with the deepest sliding scale fees in San Francisco. I gained immense experience working to provide affordable and accessible professional support for issues related to mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, and continue to be a part of the organization today as the Information & Communications Coordinator.

During my undergraduate studies, I was introduced to the practice of Yoga. Several years later, I completed a personally transformative training at Ashtanga Yoga Paris. Since then, I have taught hundreds of students publicly and privately throughout France and California, and continue to teach in the Bay Area. While my own daily practice and specialty is in Ashtanga Yoga, I have extensive experience and training in Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative yoga, as well as Vipassana meditation and pranayama; all of which deeply inform both my personal practice and approach to healing.

How I Work

I know first hand that therapy requires vulnerability, and that it takes a lot to reach out for support. By doing so, you are already taking good care of yourself and displaying immense courage. I view myself as a compassionate guide - not as an expert or authority - whose work and collaborative presence will allow us to uncover your wisdom and reconnect to your true self beneath the hurts and adaptations.

I blend mindfulness based practices such as breathing exercises, gentle movement, and guided imagery with other evidence based practices such as Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I aim to integrate both ancient wisdom and modern science in a way that makes sense to you and your life right now.

Effective therapy is not possible without a strong therapeutic relationship. Showing up to slow down, be present, and cultivate connection with oneself and others is challenging in our fast paced and technologically driven society. What I love most about my work is providing a safe space for people to connect with themselves and express their truths. This includes working to understand how your differing beliefs, lived experiences, cultural and social identities, and generational trauma interweave to manifest your daily reality and our interactions. I am deeply honored to share this space with you, and to support you in uncovering what is already within you.
